Why Death Penalty for rapes might not be an amazing idea?

The Cabinet's approval of death penalty for minors (below age twelve) and President's approval to that ,while might have raised hopes of the people in general regarding women safety in country, it might not actually do what they are expecting it to do. Why? Let's read along. Increasing instances of rapes, especially those in which minors are the victims, have revived the debate about death penalty for rapes. This time the rhetoric is a bit different as people are asking for death penalty where the minor is below the age of 12. As growing public opinion seems to be asking for revenge and as govt. opinion seems to be now getting affected by populist concerns, a bit more insight is needed whether introduction of death penalty would be beneficial or not. Demand: Introduction of death penalty for raping minors (below 12) Reason: Raping a child of such a small age is heinous and death penalty should be there as it would act as a “deterrent”. CBSE and the paper leak - What's new this time?

Paper leak is a norm and not an exception. The exception is the decision to reconduct the examinations and that is the sole reason for the protests and loss in faith.

The recent CBSE paper leak case has left people wondering if the future of their kids is in the right hands. The students are also disgruntled as they will have to appear for the exams again. Has the institution of education in India fallen ?

Before asking this question , let's analyze things a bit more.
Why are students and their parents angry?
Paper leak ? No. There were CBSE exam paper leaks in the past also. None cared about those leaks, none talked about those leaks. Students and their parents happily went with the flow for their selfish interests. None approached the authorities complaining about the leaks then. None cared to ask whether the institution of education has fallen or not.
So why have people lost faith now ?
1. Students are generally afraid of exams. There might be further apprehensions about the level of difficulty of the revised question paper. Some students who didn't benefit from the paper leak and had a good shot might also be afraid whether they would be able to repeat the feat or not.
2. Those who bought question papers must be feeling like they have been cheated and robbed of their HARD EARNED money. And they might not be even sure that whether their would be a question paper leak again or not.

CBSE has failed definitely but it is not the first time. The voices of dissent should have been raised earlier. The faith some people have lost is not in the CBSE but in the institution of paper leak. They don't trust anymore that paper leaks won't be caught. They don't trust that there won't be any counter actions.

So people should understand that an institution fails due to corruption and not due to the counter actions. Next time, please make a hue and cry on the corruption itself and not only when inconvenient counter actions are taken. Come out of your selfish shells. Monitor your own selves on the meter of ethics and morality first.

AND BEST OF LUCK FOR THE EXAMINATIONS.
